Agnes Burnett Bett was born in 1871 in New Zealand, the daughter of Robert Bett, a blacksmith, and Mary Burnett.
Her father died in 1873, and after his death her mother opened a boarding house in Marton. When Agnes signed the suffrage petition they were living in High Street, Marton.
Agnes married John Alfred Franklin, a storekeeper, in 1894. They had two daughters.
John died in 1931 and Agnes died on May 24th 1951. They were both cremated.
