Agnes Allan was born about 1830 in Stirlingshire, Scotland – the daughter of Alexander Allan, a seedsman, and Elizabeth.

She came to New Zealand to join her two brothers who were living in Dunedin, probably in the 1860’s.

She was the sister in law of Wilhelmina Allan. (See 158 Mrs W C Allan)

When Agnes signed the suffrage petition she was living in Bay View Road, St Kilda.

She died at her home in Forbury Rd, Caversham on 23 August 1905 and is buried with two of her nephews in the Southern Cemetery.
