Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Agnes Jane Todd was born in 1868 in New Zealand – the daughter of Mathew Todd and Mary Cochrane.

When she signed the suffrage petition Agnes was living in the Shag Valley.

She married Peter Keith Lunan, a farmer, in 1896 and they had two children. Peter died in 1912, he is buried in the Palmerston Cemetery.

She married again on 31 December 1914 to William Hobkirk Brunton, also a farmer, and they had a son the following year.

Agnes died at Dunedin on 15 June 1942, she is buried in the Palmerston Cemetery.

William died in 1955, he is presumably buried with Agnes.
