Agnes Jane McLauchlan was born in 1863 in Chewton, Victoria, Australia – the daughter of James McLauchlan, a quarryman, and Jane Morrison. (See 341 Jane McLauchlan)
She came to New Zealand with her parents as a young child and they settled in Bluff.
Agnes married William Robert Dodd, an engine driver, in 1889 in Victoria.
They returned to Bluff where Agnes signed the suffrage petition and they had two daughters, one who died in infancy.
William died in 1928 and Agnes died on 16 September 1943, they are buried with their daughter in the Bluff Cemetery.
