Agnes Chapman was born about 1853.

She married, baker, Gilbert McIntyre McDougall on July 2nd 1874 in Dunedin.

Their first child was born in Dunedin before they moved to Balclutha  - they were to have a total of 7 children.

In 1881 Gilbert was declared bankrupt in Balclutha and again, in 1885, in Gore. 

After this the family moved to Lumsden then to Dunedin in 1888.

When Agnes signed the suffrage petition they were living in Lees Street.

She died at her home in Andersons Bay on February 6th1908 & Gilbert died in 1932 – they are buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
