Agnes Bryce was born on 19 May 1829 in Avondale, Lanarkshire, Scotland – the daughter of Thomas Bryce, a blacksmith, and Margaret Miller.
She had a son in August 1859 and she married her son’s father, David Wilson, shortly after on 7 October in Avondale.
The family emigrated to New Zealand in the early 1860s and had a further four children.
When Agnes signed the suffrage petition they were living in Milton and David was working as a labourer.
David died at their home in 1905 and Agnes died at their daughter’s home in Milton on 11 January 1914 – they are buried in the Fairfax Cemetery, Milton.
