Alice Charlotte Fulton was born in Napier in 1861 – the daughter of Francis Crossley Fulton and Fanny Fridela Hall.
Her family settled in Otago when Alice was a child but later moved back to Napier.
Alice married Donald Reid, a solicitor, on 8 January 1885 at St John’s, Napier – they had four children and lived in Milton where Alice signed the suffrage petition.
Donald served as an MP for a short time and was also Mayor of Milton for three periods – he died at Milton in 1922.
Alice died while on a visit to Dunedin on 21 December 1933, they are buried in the Fairfax Cemetery, Milton.
