Alice Priscilla Keates was born in New Zealand in 1865, the daughter of Timothy Keates & Elizabeth Willis.

On 26 December 1888, at her parent’s residence in Hanover St, Dunedin, Alice married James Miller, a carpenter. They had three children.

James died in 1911 and Alice died on 1 April 1949. They are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
