Alice Rebecca O’Neill was born about 1866, possibly in Ireland.
She arrived in New Zealand in the 1880s, possibly on the Victory in 1883.
Alice married George Robert Walters in 1884 and they had seven children.
When she signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Argyle St, Mornington.
George died in 1920 and Alice died at her home on 5 February 1927 – they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
