Allise/Alison Brown was born in 1874 in New Zealand – the daughter of Alexander Brown, a labourer, and Agnes Neill (See 31 Mrs Agnes Brown).

When Alison signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Leith Valley, Dunedin.

She moved to Dannevirke in 1898 where she married Sydney Chowne Lambert, a commercial traveller, on 9 January 1899.

They had five children, one who died in infancy.

They lived in Wellington until 1906 when they moved to Dunedin for a year before returning to Wellington where Sydney work for the Income Tax Department. He died in 1916 and Allison died at her home on 30 April 1939 – they are buried together in the Karori Cemetery.
