Amelia Pinnell was born Amelia Maberly on 21 September 1858 in Paddington, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia to Joseph Maberly and his wife Ann Eliza Whitton.

On 19 August 1879 Amelia married Elisha Pinnell in Waimate, South Canterbury.

The 1881 electoral rolls records Elisha Pinnell, Lot 70, part rural section 4312, cottage, Waimate.

Amelia and Elisha had eleven children.

The 1911 electoral records Amelia and Elisha, a Carter, residing in Mortimer street, Waimate.

Elisha Pinnell, age 68 years died on 21 July 1919 and is buried in the Waimate Old cemetery, Methodist section, Row 15, Plot 491.

In December 1922, Amelia was fined for allowing three cows and a calf to wander Rhodes street. 

The 1925 electoral roll records Amelia Pinnell, Widow living in Mortimer street, Waimate.

Again, in May and July 1926 she was fined for allowing stock to wander in borough streets. In July 1931 Amelia was again fined for allowing a cow to wander in Mary street. She was fined a total of forty shillings plus court costs and solicitors fees.

At the time of Amelia’s death she was living in Mary street, Waimate.

Amelia Pinnell, age 76 years, died on 21 October 1935 and is buried in the Waimate Old cemetery, with her husband, in the same Plot.
