Biographical information provided by Fiona Oliver for the He Tohu exhibition:

Amy Flyger was born in 1845 and married William Churchill in 1863. She had 10 children in the space of 13 years. Amy died suddenly in Carterton in 1905. She must have been much-loved, as her husband and children placed In Memorium notices in the newspaper for many years afterwards.
