Ann Keen was born about 1870 in Wiltshire, England – the daughter of Emma Keene. (See 112 Emma Clark)
Her mother married William Henry Clark and the family emigrated to Otago in 1874 on the Hindostan.
They lived in Mosgiel and Whare Flat, near to Mosgiel.
Ann married Andrew Bringans on 18 November 1890 in the Mosgiel parish and they had four children.
When she signed the suffrage petition they were living in Mosgiel.
Ann died at her daughter’s home in Dunedin on 13 January 1940 and Andrew died in 1955 – they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
