Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Ann Waters was born about 1840 in Newfoundland.

She married John Pixley, a storekeeper from Guernsey, on 24 December 1858 in Fortune Bay, Newfoundland.

They do not appear to have had any children and 1871 found them living in Jersey in the Channel Island with John working as a coal merchant.

Soon after they emigrated to New Zealand and settled in Dunedin.

When Ann signed the suffrage petition they were living in George St and John was working as a 'collector'.

John died in 1914 and Ann died on 4 May 1919, they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
