Ann Rouse was born in New Zealand in 1870 – the daughter of William Rouse and Marianne Wratten.
Her mother died in childbirth in 1879 and when Ann signed the suffrage petition she was living with her father in Sawyers Bay, near Port Chalmers.
She died on 2 November 1955 and she is buried with her parents and sister in the Port Chalmers Cemetery.
