Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Ann Findlay was born about 1835.

She married Robert Thow, a labourer, on 29 March 1861 in the Tokomairiro parish and they had three children.

Robert died at their home in Milton in 1890 and when Ann signed the suffrage petition she was still in Milton with her family.

She died at her home on 8 February 1900 and is buried with Robert in the Fairfax Cemetery, Milton.

Her obituary said she 'was of a very quiet and retiring disposition, but those who knew her could appreciate the genuine kindliness of her nature.'
