Annie Young Hamilton was born about 1870 – the daughter of James Hamilton.

She married Alexander Dickson Crawford, a blacksmith, on 14 October 1892 at Annie’s sister’s house in Green Island near Dunedin.

When Annie signed the suffrage petition they were living in David St, Caversham, Dunedin.

They had three children and, about 1898, moved to Green Island.

Alexander died suddenly in 1919 of a heart attack while walking home from the local hotel.

Annie died on 7 September 1948 at Dunedin, she is buried with Alexander in the Green Island Cemetery.
