Annie McKay was born about 1848.
She married Archibald Garvan, a carter, on July 30th 1869 in Dunedin.
They had 11 children and when Annie signed the suffrage petition they were living in Stoneburn, near Dunback, in North Otago.
Archibald died at Palmerston in May 1924. The following day their daughter Annabella died.
Annie died on August 12th 1924 at her daughter’s home at Maheno. They are buried in the Palmerston Cemetery.
