Annie H Patterson was born Annie Harriet Bremner on 21 March 1864 in Waimate, the eldest daughter of George Bremner and his wife Jane Bremner née Sandison.
Annie Bremner was educated at Waimate school.
Annie married James Patterson on 16 April 1884 in Waimate.
Annie signed the 1893 Women’s Suffrage Petition in Waimate.
Annie and James had six children.
By 1907 the Patterson family had moved to Gore, Southland. In 1911 they were living in Pine Hill, Gore. Around 1925 they had moved to Mersey street, Gore and in 1942 were living in Albany street, Gore.
Two sons; John and Jack served in WW1.
'Mrs Patterson did not take an active part in public affairs but during the Great War she was an enthusiastic patriotic worker.'
'Following the outbreak of WW2 Annie assisted with the provision of knitted goods.'
Annie Patterson died on 30 August 1942, age 78 years and is buried in the Gore cemetery, Block 96, Plot 91.
James Patterson died on 14 September 1946, age 90 years and is buried in the Gore cemetery, next to his wife in Block 96, Plot 90.
