Annie Montague was born about 1859.
She married John McRae, a farmer, in 1890 and they had six children.
When Annie signed the suffrage petition they were living at Tokorahi near Livingstone in North Otago.
They had a run in the McKenzie country before they 'bought an estate on the Waitaki'.
When they sold this property they bought a run near Waimate, he died there in 1928.
Annie died at her daughter’s home in Waimate on 22 March 1932, they are buried together in the Waimate Old Cemetery.
