Ann Randell was born in 1843 in London, England, the daughter of William Randell, a master sawyer, and Ann Millwood.

She emigrated to New Zealand where her brother Arthur was living, possibly after his wife died in 1888.

When she signed the suffrage petition Annie was living in Belleknowes.

She died at her brother’s home on April 2nd 1916 and is buried with him in the Southern Cemetery.
