Annie Ashton was born in 1866 in New Zealand – the daughter of Anthony Ashton, an engineer, and Emma Yeomans.
When she signed the suffrage petition Annie was living with her family in Greymouth.
She married William John Reynolds, an inspector of public works, in 1894 and they had four sons.
William died in 1926 and Annie remained in Greymouth where she died on 24 November 1951 – they are both buried in the Karoro Cemetery.
