Barbara Ann Strang was born in Victoria, Australia in 1862 – the daughter of James Strang and Barbara Lawson Brown. Barbara travelled to Otago with her mother in 1863, arriving on the “St Clair” – her father appears to have come earlier.
On 25 August 1886 at Knox Church, Dunedin, Barbara married Charles Rollo. They had five children, losing one son at 14 years old and another at 21 years.
Barbara died on 11 June 1942 and Charles died in 1943. They were both cremated and their ashes scattered.
