Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Barbara Taylor was born about 1865, probably in Australia.

She married Robert Henry Blair in Victoria, Australia in 1889 and soon after they sailed for Otago.

They had four children and when Barbara signed the suffrage petition they were living in Dundas St, Dunedin and Robert was studying to be a Minister.

In 1896 Robert was appointed to the Queenstown Presbyterian Parish.

They moved to Clinton, in South Otago, in 1901.

Barbara died at the manse in Clinton on 11 August 1904, 'after a long and painful illness', she is buried in the Clinton Cemetery.

Robert re-married the following year, he died in Timaru in 1938 and is buried in the Temuka Cemetery.
