Charlotte Ann Fuller was born in Ely, Cambridgeshire, England in 1861 – the daughter of William Fuller, a mason, and Ann Elizabeth Watson.
She emigrated to Canterbury in 1877 on the Waikato and she married Hugh Gordon Allison, a miner, in 1879.
The family lived at Cobden, near Greymouth, and they had seven children. Charlotte signed the suffrage petition in Cobden.
In 1895 their son William died and at the time William snr. was away at Blackball mining and was unable to attend the funeral due to an injury to his leg.
The following year Charlotte claimed for maintenance which William was unable to pay.
He died in 1922 at the Old People’s Home in Kumara and is buried in the Kumara Cemetery.
Charlotte died in Wellington on 6 November 1938 – she is buried in the Karori Cemetery.
