Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley.

Charlotte Ann Leary was born about 1847 in England.

She emigrated to Otago in 1867 on the “Countess of Kintore”.

She married Isaac Green, a dairyman, in 1876 and they had five children. They lived in High Rd, North East Valley, in Dunedin where Charlotte signed the suffrage petition.

Charlotte died at their home “The Woodlands” on 18 April 1919 and Isaac died in 1933 at their daughter’s home in Christchurch – they are buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
