Christina McConechy was born in New Zealand in 1866, the daughter of Graham McConechy, a baker.
She grew up in Invercargill and when she signed the suffrage petition she was with her sister-in-law Margaret in Albert St, Dunedin.
Christina married Alfred Robert Campbell, a cattle dealer and butcher in 1895 - they had no children but adopted a son.
Alfred died in Invercargill in 1932 and Christina died in August 1933. They are buried in the family grave in the Invercargill Eastern Cemetery.
