Catherine Fisher was born on 25 April 1859 in Glasgow – the eldest child of James Fisher, a victualler, and Mary Patrick.
She emigrated to New Zealand with her family about 1869 and they settled in Dunedin.
Catherine married John Norrie, a printer, on 23 December 1884 in the Gore Presbyterian Church – they had four sons.
They lived, at first, in Milton then in Gore, where Catherine signed the suffrage petition.
They later moved to Lawrence where John died shortly after he retired, in 1938.
Catherine died on 23 March 1945 in Wellington – they are buried together in the Lawrence Cemetery.
