Catherine Dobbie was born about 1823 in Scotland, she married Francis Andrew/s about 1852 and they had five children, one who died in infancy.
Their remaining children emigrated to Otago in 1874, Catherine and Francis also came about 1874.
They settled in Rothesay, West Harbour, Dunedin.
Francis died in the Dunedin Hospital in 1876, aged 67.
Catherine was still living in Rothesay when she signed the suffrage petition.
She died at her home on 11 March 1899 and is buried with Francis in the Northern Cemetery.
