Catherine Ann Cameron was born about 1867. She married Harry Payne, a storeman, in 1887 in Oamaru.
They had three sons. When Catherine signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Hanover St, Dunedin.
Catherine died in Wellington in 1924 and is buried in the Karori Cemetery. Harry died in Christchurch in 1927 and he is buried in the Bromley Cemetery.
