Biography from Katherine Blakeley.
Catherine Jamieson McIntosh was born in Rothesay, Bute, Scotland on 21 August 1836. She worked as an errand girl then cotton weaver before emigrating to NZ in C 1864. Shortly after her arrival she married William Price, a blacksmith, at the Tuapeka Hotel, Teviot Junction.
William & Catherine settled in Tapanui, South Otago and had a total of 9 children, all surviving to adulthood.
Catherine was widowed in 1886 leaving her with a young family, she died in 1910 and is buried in the Tapanui Cemetery.
