Catherine/Kate Murphy was born about 1847.
She married Thomas White in 1870 in Victoria, Australia and shortly after they sailed for Otago.
They settled in Dunedin and had 10 children – when Catherine signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Tay St, Roslyn.
Thomas died in 1901 and Catherine died at her home on 21 July 1929 – they are buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
