Charlotte Colbeck [commonly Coulbeck] was born Charlotte Glover in 1849, Tealby, Lincolnshire, England to William Glover and his wife Harriet Housham.
On 1 July 1873 Charlotte married John Coulbeck at Caistor, Lincolnshire, England.
Charlotte, John and two children; Harriett (three-years-old) and Ann (two months) emigrated to Canterbury from Caistor on 18 September 1874 on board the Geraldine Paget arriving on 27 December 1874. They settled in Waimate, South Canterbury.
They had four daughters and two sons born in New Zealand between 1876 and 1890.
Mrs Coulbeck also signed the 1892 Women’s Suffrage Petition Roll, Sheet 220.
The electoral rolls record them living in Rhodes street and from 1922 at 9 Rhodes street.
John died on 24 June 1904, aged 56 years and is buried in the Waimate Old cemetery, Methodist section, Row 15, Plot 000242. John’s death is registered under the name Conebeck.
Charlotte died on 19 May 1934, aged 85 years and is buried in the Waimate Old cemetery, Methodist section, Row 15, Plot 000244.
