She married baker William James Gollar in 1882 and they had two children, the eldest who died in infancy.

When Charlotte signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Union St, Dunedin.

William died in 1916 and Charlotte died at her daughter’s home on 27 November 1925 – they are buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
