Charlotte Patterson MacDonald was born on 6 April 1855 in Dunedin – the daughter of Archibald MacDonald, a teacher, and Janet McGregor.
Charlotte did not marry and when she signed the suffrage petition she was living in Belleknowes, Dunedin.
She died at her sister’s home in Roslyn on 26 May 1915 and is buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
