Christina Routledge was born in 1838 in Cumberland, England – the daughter of Richard Routledge, a coal miner, and Catherine Corrin.
She married John Rodgerson, an engine fitter, in 1861 and they had eight children, one who died in infancy.
The family emigrated to New Zealand in the early 1880s and they settled in Dunedin.
When Christina signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Macandrew Rd, South Dunedin.
Christina died on 4 January 1905 and John died in 1910, they are buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
