Christina McAuslan was born about 1837, she married Alexander Thomson, a plumber, on 11 September 1863 in Dunedin.

They had four daughters and when Christina signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Andersons Bay Road.

Alexander died at their home in 1896 and Christina died on 24 June 1906. They are buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
