Biographical information provided by Briary Barry for the He Tohu exhibition:
Dinah was born in Lincolnshire, England in 1853. Before coming to New Zealand she married Allan Borman. The couple moved to New Zealand in 1853 and settled at West Eyreton but sadly Allan was killed in an accident in 1882 while working as a labourer on Dixon’s Estate. Several years later Dinah married T. Marshall who died in 1919. Dinah lived in the West Eyreton district for more than 50 years, but moved to Rangiora to be closer to her daughter around 1929. She died in 1934, aged 87.
