Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Elizabeth Amelia Wood was born about 1843, possibly in Australia, the daughter of John Wood.

She married John Pope on 16 October 1866 at Longworth Terrace, Moray Place, Dunedin. They had six children and when she signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Arthur St, Dunedin.

John died in 1896 and Elizabeth died on 31 October 1912. They are buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
