Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Elizabeth Chalmers Roberts was born in 1861 in New Zealand – the daughter of William John Roberts, a customs officer, and Elizabeth Fairley. (See 57 Elizabeth Roberts)
She married Henry William Head, a painter, in 1887 – they had three children.
When Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in George St, Caversham, Dunedin.
They moved to Petone, in the Hutt Valley, near Wellington in the 1900s.
Henry died in 1925 and Elizabeth died on 28 August 1934. They are buried together in the Taita Cemetery.
