Elizabeth Smith was born in 1866 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Smith and Isabella Park.
She married Francis Patrick Cahill, an accountant, on 21 October 1885 at her parents’ home in Caversham and they had four children.
When Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition they were living in Caversham, Dunedin.
In 1897 the family moved to Auckland where Francis died in 1924 – he is buried Hillsborough Cemetery.
Elizabeth died on 28 November 1948, also in Auckland, she is buried with her sister in the Waikumete Cemetery.
