Eliza Emma Archibald was born in 1857 in Surrey, England – the daughter of William Alexander Archibald and Eliza Emma Barron.
In 1881 she was working as a servant for grocer Frank Grayson Walton in Rotherhithe, Surrey.
She emigrated to New Zealand in the mid 1880’s where she married Frank on 12 December 1885 in “the parlor of the Young Men’s Christian Association”, in Dunedin.
They had three children and when Eliza signed the suffrage petition they were living in Leith St, Dunedin.
Frank died at their home in 1904 – he is buried in the Northern Cemetery.
Eliza died on 6 November 1953 – she is buried with her daughter in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
