E Fright was born Ellen Rosina Finn on 9 April 1841, Ramsgate, Kent, England to Francis Finn and his wife Sarah Foster.
Ellen married William Fright on 7 October 1863, Holy Trinity Church, Margate, Kent, England.
Ellen and William Fright along with her brother Walter Foster Finn, wife Susannah and their four children arrived in Lyttelton in January 1864 on the Tiptree.
Ellen and William had nine children.
The electoral rolls for 1893 and 1896 record Ellen and William Fright living in Hume street, Sydenham, Christchurch. From 1911 the address is given as 36 Hume street.
William died in Sydenham on 12 February 1915, age 74 years and is buried in the Sydenham cemetery, Block 13C, Plot 2.
Ellen died in Sydenham on 29 August 1923 age 82 years and is buried in the Sydenham cemetery, Block 13C, Plot 1. Also buried in the same Plot is Andrew Neil Norris, a stillborn infant who died on 26 February 1953.
Ellen Rosina Fright’s sister-in-law Mrs Finn also signed the Petition, Sheet 236.
