Elizabeth Georgina Townsend was born about 1837. She had two daughters with Charles Townsend in New Zealand in the 1860s although their death records give their birth dates as in the 1870s (See 341 E M Townsend and 341 L G Townsend)
Charles either died or left the family and when Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition she was living with her daughter in Bluff working as a teacher.
She later lived in Alexandra before moving to Timaru where she died on 14 June 1924, she is buried in the Timaru Cemetery.
