Elizabeth Bell Johnston was born about 1861.

She married Walter John Hewitt, a builder, in Victoria, Australia in 1885 and they had one daughter.

They came to New Zealand and settled in Dunedin – when Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition they were living in Serpentine Avenue.

Walter died in 1895 and Elizabeth re-married in 1899 to Nathaniel Rollinson, a coachman and carter.

They lived in Kaitangata where Elizabeth died on 6 November 1916 – she is buried with Walter in the Southern Cemetery.

Nathaniel re-married in 1918 – he died in 1935 and is buried in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
