Euphemia Jane Given was born in 1867 in New Zealand – the daughter of Robert Given, a builder, and Patience Careless. Euphemia's sister Patience also signed the 1893 Suffrage Petition.
She married Maxwell Instone Fyfe in 1897 and they had two children. Maxwell was a draper whose wife, Alice Mary, and child had died in a shipwreck in 1894.
Maxwell died in 1932 and Euphemia died on 9 September 1955. They are buried together in the Northern Cemetery, Dunedin.
