Annie Elizabeth Lakeman was born in 1872 in Victoria, Australia – the daughter of Alfred Lakeman and Agnes Ann Henderson Lake. (See 72 Agnes Lakeman)
She sailed for Otago with her family in 1873 and they settled in Dunedin.
They moved to Gore in the 1880’s where Annie signed the suffrage petition.
Annie died in Gore on 20 December 1951 - she is buried in the family grave in the Gore Cemetery.
