Elizabeth Mary Harrison was born about 1866 in Quebec, Canada - the daughter of Richard Mark Harrison and Margaret.

Elizabeth’s father was a drill instructor, Sergeant Major in the 1st Battalion Rifle Brigade. The family arrived in New Zealand about 1875.

Elizabeth trained as a teacher and in later life she lived with her sister Margaret Garrett in Sutton.

Elizabeth died at Sutton on 31 May 1943. She is buried in a family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
