Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Annie Elizabeth Vickers was born in New Zealand in 1864 – the daughter of Leslie James Vickers and Sarah Hartley.
She married Andrew Fowler Miller, a vanman and baker, in 1886 and they had three children.
Andrew was declared bankrupt in 1889 due to lack of work.
When Annie signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Smith St, Caversham.
They lived in Smith St until 1902 when the bakery went on fire resulting in the loss of the bakery, some vans and a horse.
Andrew died in 1917 and Annie later moved to Christchurch where her married daughter lived.
She died on 11 January 1941 and is buried in the Bromley Cemetery, Christchurch.
