Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Annie Elizabeth Rosevear/e was born in Saltash, Cornwall, England in 1871 – the fourth of five children of Matthew Rosevear, a storekeeper, and Christiana Glasson Wilcocks.

Her mother died in 1877 and the following year her father married Elizabeth Jane Perry. (See 71 E J Rosevear)

Shortly after her father’s re-marriage the family emigrated to Otago where Catherine’s eight half-brothers and sisters were born.

Matthew died in 1888 and when Annie signed the suffrage petition she was living with her step-mother and family in Prince Edward Rd, Dunedin.

She married George Frederick Phillips, a carter, in 1901 and they had two children, one who died in infancy.

George died in 1909, he is buried in the Northern Cemetery.

Annie re-married in 1915 to Walter John Bowden Radford, a widower and chief porter at the Oamaru railway station.

Walter died in 1920 and Annie died on 11 April 1932, they are both buried in the Oamaru Cemetery.
